Celia A. Maestas, of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, November 22, 2004 at the young age of 95. A beautiful tribute was published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday, November 28, 2004. In honor of her wishes, no memorial service was held. Mrs. Maestas was cremated, and her cremains were placed in a niche at Mt. Calvary Columbarium on Monday, November 29, 2004. Her daughter, Evelyn Carter, wishes to thank Ms. Kathleen Lemieux of Simple Pleasures Senior Care Home and all the wonderful staff, Jill, DesiRae, Sue, Paula, and Lea, for all the special care, attention, and love given to her. In addition, a very special thanks to Lovelace Hospice Services, in particular, Nancy Liberatore, Swana Garcia, Vickie Hughes, and Laura Garner, for all the love and special care bestowed to Celia while she was under hospice care. She loved each and every one of her caregivers, and we all knew that everyone went over and beyond the call of duty. She stated that after her passing she would like all her friends and family to go out, have a few laughs, enjoy a good meal, and celebrate life as she did.
