Maya Catherine died on November 28, 2004 after an unexpected illness. Our beautiful and beloved Maya planned to study poverty and racism and wanted to make a difference in the world. In her too brief 24 years, Maya entered our hearts. The outpouring of love and support during Maya's brief illness was overwhelming. A celebration of Maya's life will be held at noon on Saturday, December 4th at Garcia Mortuary. Maya inspired many to continue their education. If you wish to honor Maya, donations may be made to an educational fund for impoverished girls at the school in Badmi, India. Please send a personal check in US dollars payable to "S.V.P.V.V.
