Erving Vedel Bendixen, 83, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 20 years, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2004. Erving was born October 16, 1921 the son of Otto and Gunvar Vennegaard Bendixen in Des Moines, Iowa. He had been a sales representative in the optical business working for American Optical, now Warner-Lambert, before retiring. Erving and his wife Doris came to New Mexico from Kansas. Erving had been a member of the Danish Brotherhood, and the Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Lloyd, Otvar, and Leif. Erving is survived by his wife of 58 years, Doris, of the family home; three children, Eric and wife Rita of Santa Fe, NM, Scott and wife Marissa of Overland Park, KS, and Chris and wife Nena of Niles, MI. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2004 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho.
