Gene Russell 1925-2004 Gene Russell Galloway, 78, a resident of Belen, passed away on Thursday November 25, 2004. He was retired from the US Air Force having served in both World War II, and the Korean Conflict. His second retirement was from McDonnell Douglas Aircraft after 23 years of service; he and his wife were stationed in various parts of the world during his tenure there. Gene enjoyed gardening, sports, and woodwork; and was a bird lover who enjoyed feeding the hummingbirds. He was also a quiet and secluded man, who enjoyed the home life and his family. Gene is survived by his loving wife, Eddie Jo of the family home in Belen; his daughter, Debra Gene Jackson and her husband, David of Clovis, NM; his sisters, Jane Elizabeth Horn and her husband, Fred, Shirley Van Ettinger and her husband, Tom, and his brother, Vernon Galloway all of Kingsport, Tennessee; his grandsons, James Ryan Lewter, Corey Russell Lewter, and David Conner Jackson; and one great-granddaughter, Jaidyn J'nae Jacquez. Cremation will take place and a memorial service is scheduled for December 27th, 2004 at the Methodist Church in Belen with Pastor Jay Armstrong officiating, the time is still pending. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Gene's memory to the Kaseman Presbyterian Hospice, Attn: Foundation Hospice Unit 8300 Constitution NE Albuquerque, NM 87110.
