Peter H. Foster. Sadly we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Pop Pop, Dad and husband, Peter H. Foster on Nov. 20, 2004 due to untreatable cancer. Pete graduated from high school in the town of Bethlehem, NY where his class will celebrate its 50th Reunion this September. After graduating with a BS Degree in Engineering from the US Military Academy at West Point, NY in 1959, he married his high school classmate Judith Ann Miller and moved to Albuquerque. They are the parents of two daughters, Juliet Foster, of Phoenix, AZ; Christel Claunch, and husband, Scott of Highlands Ranch, CO; and two granddaughters, Sydni and Camryn Claunch. Pete built an exemplary career with DoD in USAF R&D Contracting, becoming Director of Contracts at KAFB Contracting Center and Deputy Director of DESA. In 1993, he retired from Government service with pride and became Director of Western Operations for SRC. Pete Foster was a Charter Member of the Albuquerque Chapter of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) and held a Top Secret SCI Security Clearance. A flag was flown over the US Capitol in Peter's honor observing the 200th anniversary of the USMA. He was a dedicated supporter of his family and friends. Pete leaves a legacy of love, care and humor that will be carried in the hearts of those blessed enough to have come to know him. His Memorial Service will be held at 11:15 a.m., Monday, Nov. 29, 2004 at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper Ave., NE with a Reception immediately following. In 1994, Pete inherited a farm in Baldwinsville, NY which has been in the family since a Revolutionary War Land Grant in 1778 and houses Civil War memorabilia from his ancestors. Friends who wish to contribute to the replanting of the apple orchard there may make donations to Wells Fargo Bank Account #2001151469 in his name. Guests are requested to wear red, white or blue clothing.
