Jennie M. died Friday November 19, 2004 of heart failure. She was a resident of Albuquerque and was raised in Montoya and Tucumcari, New Mexico. The daughter of Isidro and Josepha Ortega, she was the eldest of 11 and she raised 5 children of her own. She was 77 and is survived by the father of the family; Ben Rael and; their children Don, Rose, Ben Jr., Anna and Steve. She, like her mother, was a devout Catholic and a member of the religious order the "Carmelita's". Although she led a difficult life because of illness, her strength and attitude always infected everyone she met with her smile. A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, November 22, 2004 at Direct Funeral Services located at 2919 4th Street. A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary located on 5414 Fortuna Rd. followed by the burial at Mount Carmel Cemetery 7807 Edith NE.
