Obituary for CHAVEZ

Denise Patricia Chavez, age 27, passed away November 8, 2004 following a tragic automobile accident near Dilia, NM. Also killed in the accident was her three year old daughter Jaelynn her fiancee Christopher Rodarte and her aunt Veronica Gutierrez. Denise was born October 23, 1977 in Fort Sumner, NM the daughter of Patrick and Diane Gutierrez Chavez. She was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa where she graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1996. She was employed at Bob's Chevron in Santa Rosa for the past 6 years where she always greeted her customers with a smile. Denise was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend and will be missed by all. She is preceded in death by an infant son Jayaire Sarabia, her daughter Jaelynn Rodarte, her fiancee Christopher Rodarte, her aunt Veronica Gutierrez and her paternal grandfather Lorenzo Chavez. Survivors include three sons that she cherished, Christian Chavez, Derrick Chavez and Christopher Rodarte, Jr., her loving parents Patrick and Diane Chavez, a sister Victoria Chavez, a brother Patrick Josh Chavez all of Santa Rosa, her nephews Devin Chavez and Javante Chavez. Also surviving are her maternal grandparents Antonio and Terry Gutierrez and her paternal grandmother Clara Chavez all of Santa Rosa along with numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 11, from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2004 from the Santa Rosa High School Gymnasium with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa. Pallbearers will be Arthur "Peach" Chavez, Claude Salcido, Jose Saiz, Francisco Chavez, Trinni Rodarte, Marka Salas, Trish Gauna, Jeff Rodarte, Johnny Romero and Roy Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers will include Archie Gutierrez, Albert Gutierrez, Maria Andrada, Ruben Saiz, Abel Chavez, Raymond Chavez, Nathan Cordova and Damian Chavez. A memorial fund has been established at Wells Fargo Bank in care of Compassion for Community Fund.
