Obituary for STRANGE

Lydia (Lucero) Strange, Santa Fe native. Lydia, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, wife and friend that was called home to be with the Lord our father on November 5, 2004 from a long battle of cancer. Born to Telesfor and Antonia Lucero on April 6, 1943. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, two brothers Adelaido and Philip Lucero. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Larry Strange. Brother and wife Gilbert and Marcella, Arthur Lucero, Eduardo Lucero and four sisters Erlinda, brother in law Manuel Griego, Celine and Arthur Garcia, Mable and Paul Briggs, Margie and Chris Espinoza, brother-in-law Damon and Nadine Strange. She is also survived by her step-children, L.D. Strange, Brenda Strange, Mark Strange, Rhonda Nieto, and her many nieces and nephews. She was a very active member of the Catholic Church and a Eucharist at St. Anne's Parish in Santa Fe and St. Vincent's Hospital. She was a parishioner of San Jose in La Cienega. She was a beautician at JC Penny's for many years before her early retirement. She volunteered for many years for Open Hands styling and trimming the hair at the Senior Centers and some of the rest homes in Santa Fe. She frequently gave of her heart many gifts of food and money to the less fortunate members of Santa Fe Senior Centers and homeless members of the community. She had a love of traveling and enjoyed the sites of many places. Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at San Jose Church in La Cienega. Mass will be held at same location on Thursday, November 11, 2004 at 9 a.m. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Albuquerque.
