Oclires "OJ" DeVargas, age 53 and a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, October 23, 2004. He worked for APS; he loved and took great pride in his work. OJ was always ready and willing to help. His kindness and laughter will be forever missed. OJ was preceded in death by his parents, Victoria Maria De Vargas and Repito Ubaldo Martinez. He is survived by his longtime companion, Mella Garcia and her children, Alfred Candelaria, Daniel and Adrianne Garcia; his children, John, Ronnie, Connie, and Michael DeVargas; sisters, Darlene Archibeque, Barbara Aragon, Elaine Sais and husband Rick, Monica Valdez and husband Larry; brother, Fred Martinez, all of Albuquerque; brother, Doug Wagner and wife Judy of Idaho; sisters, Rose Wrigley and husband George of Semi Valley, CA, Terri Medina, Charlotte DeVargas and Noel Salazar of Denver, CO; brothers, Ben DeVargas and wife Luisa of New Mexico, Archie DeVargas, Joe DeVargas, Pres DeVargas and wife Mary, John DeVargas and wife Kim of Denver, CO, Patrick Wrigley and wife Theresa of Palmdale, CA, Larry DeVargas and wife Evette of Espanola, NM. A viewing will be held in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services, on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Holy Child Catholic Church in Carnuel, at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2004.
