Barbara L. Phillips, 83, a Albuquerque resident for 62 years, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2004. She was born and raised in Grand Junction, Colorado and moved to Albuquerque with her husband, Harold, in 1941. Barbara loved tending her flowers, but her iris and rose gardens were her favorites. In later years, she volunteered at the Rio Grande Food Project, was active in Bible Study Fellowship, and was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. Barbara is survived by her children, Richard and wife, Sanette of Amarillo, TX, Linda McConahy and husband, Larry of Albuquerque, and Jim and wife, Pat Armell of Aztec, NM; grandchildren, Jocelyn Phillips of Amarillo, TX, Charles and Kim Phillips of Livermore, CA, Brian and Eve McConahy of Longmont, CO, Jason and Sara McConahy of Ft. Collins, CO, Leslie Armell of Ithaca, NY, and Julia Phillips of Portland, OR; eight great-granchildren; and sisters, Doris Rode of Covina, CA and Helen Bathurst of San Leandro, CA. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 2002 and son, Douglas, in 1992. Services will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2004, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel with A. Raymond Gere and Jason McConahy officiating. Private family entombment will follow at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum.
