Guadalupe Vargas, 86, went home to be with the Lord on October 17, 2004. She was born on June 5, 1918 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is preceded in death by her husband Vicente Vargas; her brother, Rudy and her sister Valentina Chavez who passed away on November 3, 2003. Mrs. Vargas is survived by her daughters, Magdalena Garcia and husband Michael, Evangelina Vargas, Antonieta Vargas; her sons, Esteban, Julian and wife Esther, Alfonso and wife Gloria and Guadalupe; brothers, Johnny Vargas and wife Alice, Manuel Vargas and Nick Vargas and wife Nora; sisters, Frances Abeyta, Isabel "Lizzie" Barreras and husband Andy, Nettie Martinez, Josie Fernandez and Consuelo Botts; her grandchildren, Olivia N. Regensberg, Anthony J. Regensberg, Gabriella L. Regensberg, Alfonso Vargas, Jr., Vicente Vargas, Noah B. Vargas, Damian, David and Angelica Garcia. Mrs. Vargas will be deeply missed by her loving family. Visitations will be held on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. also at San Jose Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Esteban Vargas, Julian Vargas, Alfonso Vargas, Guadalupe Vargas, Anthony Regensberg and Michael Garcia.
