Isabel Woodward Mabry, 86, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 14, 2004, Belen, NM. She is survived by her grandson, Dale Large of Lawton, OK; granddaughters, Kathy Sanchez and husband, Kenneth of Belen and Lisa Padilla and husband, Johnny of Belen; sisters, Hazel P. Woodward and Eleanor W. Richmond, both of Roswell, NM; and sister-in-law, Juanita Bolton of Lubbock, TX; and great-grandchildren, Heather, Jeremy, Katie and Robin Large, Derek and Vanessa Sanchez and Victoria Barreras and Deborah Padilla. Mrs. Mabry was preceded in death by her husband, Temple Norwood Mabry; son, Norwood "Blackie" Mabry, Jr. who perished aboard the nuclear submarine USS Thresher 593, 220 miles east of Boston, MA, on April, 10, 1963; daughter, Barbara Jean Large; and son-in-law, Robert Lee Large. She was born October 6, 1918 in Roswell, NM to James Hershel Woodward and Nellie Willison Woodward, both deceased. Isabel Woodward and Templeman Norwood "Blackie" Mabry were married in February 1936 in Tucumcari, NM. Services will be held Monday, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be Dale Large, Joe Doty, Bud Chadwick, Lou Kimball, Derek Sanchez, Norman Eades and Bobby Bolton. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Padilla, Kenneth Sanchez, Ralph Hinchmann and her great-grandchildren.
