Maxine. Memorial Service for Maxine Lorraine Guevara Spencer. Died July 16, 2002. It was our mother's wishes that her seven children would all have a chance to gather for her memorial. James Spencer has been serving in Iraq and is only now able to join us. Maxine, our beloved mother and friend, was born in Carrizozo, NM on February 22, 1932. She was our constant, our rock. We will always miss and remember her physical presence, her agape love, her famous cooking, and her family gatherings during birthdays and holidays. She lived a full life, and she was always there for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by: daughter Sandra Haley, husband Jim from Manchester, TN, and their children Angelique Stidham and husband Darrel, great-grandchildren Alex and Haley, grandson Jimmy Haley, great-grandchildren Kayla and Duce; daughter Deborah Blanchard of Albuquerque, grandchildren Kerensa, great-grandchildren Uriah, Angelique, and Jacqueline, granddaughter Lucille, and grandson Pax; son Bill Shaw of Albuquerque, granddaughters Chanda, Brandy, great-grandson Daniel, granddaughters Ali, and Anna Marie; daughter Patricia Walden and husband Mike of Albuquerque, grandsons Jesse and Travis; daughter Suzette Facciolla and husband James of Conyngham, PA, grandchildren Nicole and Jimmy; son John A. Spencer of California; son James D. Spencer and wife Monica of Clarksville, TN. She is also survived by her aunt Virginia Duran and husband Johnny of Tularosa, as well as their children. Maxine will be forever cherished and missed in the hearts and memories of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2004 at Capitan Catholic Church in Capitan, NM. Services will start at 11:00 a.m. with a Rosary followed by a Mass. Graveside services will follow. Maxine wished for her ashes to be buried by her father Alvino Guevara and her mother Nellie (Manuela) Guevara in Capitan. A dinner will be held at the church hall afterward. We ask that Maxine's family and friends please join us to celebrate her life and share the memories.
