Mary E. Schoenfeld, a former resident of Albuquerque, died October 5, 2004 in Durango, CO at the age of 82. Mary was born in Durham, NC on July 22, 1922 to Frank and Wilhelmina Upchurch. She received her bachelor of music degree from Rollins College at Winter Park, FL. After marrying Morton G. Schoenfeld, they moved to Albuquerque in the early 1940s where she was involved with the music community of New Mexico, performing at numerous concerts and teaching children over the years. In 1970 she moved to Taos, NM where she taught music in the outlying schools for 25 years. She was preceeded in death by her daughter, Susan Schoenfeld; and granddaughter, Rachel Light. Mary is survived by her daughter, Jane Schold of Durango; two sons, Jerry Schoenfeld of Pahrump, NV, David Schoenfeld of Albuquerque; six Grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
