Patricia Keely Kerr-Sanders, 71, beloved wife and mother peacefully passed away in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday, October 2, 2004. Survived by her husband John P. Sanders, her brother Jack T. Keely & his wife Kathleen Keely, her children: Michael Kerr, Chuck Kerr, Mark and wife Bonnie Kerr, Scotty Kerr, Anne Kerr-Magel and husband Bill Magel, and her extended family Mike Sanders and wife Linda , Tim Sanders and wife Nancy, Carolyn Sanders, nine grandchildren and one great grandson on the way, including many dear friends. Predeceased by: Maurice H. Keely and Mayoma T. Keely (both listed in New Mexico History Vol III), and John B. Kerr. Patricia obtained a Masters Degree in Education from UNM and worked for APS as a teacher for 26 years focusing attention on the Gifted Program. A trainer for students in conflict mediation during her teaching career and founder for Conflict Mediation in the Schools Training (MIST Team) after retirement she continued volunteering for various organizations and was the assistant coordinator for the NM Nat'l History Day Program, she was Secretary for the Cross Country Ski Club, as well as a member of various womans' groups. Patricia was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist Albuquerque since 1960 and First Church of Christ, Scientist (Mother Church) in Boston since 1955. She was awarded the APS Nick Nellos Anti-Violence Award in 2003 and Years of Steadfast Leadership MIST Award. Longtime theater and drama devotee.
