Obituary for HUNT

V. Elaine Hunt, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, was born in Phelps County, NE on Wednesday, March 9, 1921 and passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2004. She is survived by her daughter, Janet K. Samberson and husband, Adrian of Albuquerque; sons, Harold R. Hunt and wife, Patricia of Bartlesville, OK, Jon A. Hunt of Albuquerque, and Bruce L. Hunt and wife, Lonni of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Alan Hunt, Richard and Curtis Samberson, and Jacob K. Hunt; brother, Harold J. Peterson and wife, Dixie of Panama City, FL; sister, R. Marguerite Curry of Phillipsburg, KS; and several nieces and nephews. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Noel R. "Mike" Hunt in 1993, after 49 years of marriage. Her ancestors were of Swedish and German decent, homesteading in Phelps County, NE; Elaine graduated from Bryan School of Nursing at Nebraska Wesleyan College, and worked as a RN prior to raising her family. Elaine was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church, sang in the church choir for 30 years, enjoyed sewing, but most of all was devoted to her family. Services will be held Friday, 3:00 p.m. at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Adrian W. Samberson, Richard N. Samberson, Curtis A. Samberson, James Ballog, Harold R. Hunt, and Jon A. Hunt. Friends may visit French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel on Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 5800 Lomas NE, 87110 or to the charity of your choice.
