Richard W. (Dick), 77, of Albuquerque NM, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather peacefully passed away Thursday, September 30, 2004. Richard was born January 31, 1927 in Olympia, WA. Served in the military for 22 years, retired civil services at Kirtland AFB after 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Gararda (Geda) and their five children: Shirley Jean Bigham of Hobbs NM, Richard W. Schoppe Jr. of Albuquerque NM, Edwin Joseph Schoppe of Albuquerque NM, R. Michael Schoppe of Bosie ID, and Vallory Ann Etmer of Edgewood NM. Also survived by his brother, Malcolm E. Schoppe of Albuquerque NM; and sister, Donna Jean Palm; and a half-sister, Pat Sosa; and two half-brothers, Ted Maze and Bill Maze, all of Washington. He will be remembered by nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 9500 Constitution NE at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 4, 2004, Rev. Roy Elmore officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Shriner's Children Fund, PO Box 8410, 87198 or any Animal Humane Society.
