Obituary for HARDING

Robert Edward Harding, Jr., Esq., 77, a resident of Albuquerque, died August 26, 2004 at home. He is survived by his wife, Iola W. Harding; son, Robert E. Harding, III; daughters, Roberta M. Harding, Esq. and Olivia V. Harding; grandchildren, Robert and Anne Harding; sisters, Geraldine and Florine of New York City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Olivia; sister, Bernice; and an infant son, Vincent. He was a retired National Labor Relations Board Attorney, Federal Mediations and Conciliation Service and the American Arbitration Association Panel of Arbitrators. He is a member of the Kentucky and New Mexico Bar Associations. He was also past President and member of the legal Counsel for the NAACP. For many years, he was adjunct professor in Afro-American Studies at UNM. Having experienced the cutting edge of segregation and "Jim Crow" laws, Robert devoted his retirement years to helping others combat discrimination and disparate treatment in many areas of life.
