Jacob Ray Benavidez, 18, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away suddenly Monday, September 27, 2004. Jacob was a loving and happy person who loved to make people laugh. He worked at his grandparents' restaurant, Casa de Benavidez Restaurant. His hobbies included his beloved brown Cadillac, which will have a special place in his funeral procession, Rap music, and hanging out with his family and friends. He is survived by his father, Glenn Benavidez of Albuquerque; and his mother, Laura Benavidez, also of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his sister, Valarie Benavidez and fiancee, BJ Sparks; and brothers; Glenn, Jr., Matthew, Malachi; and Miguel, all of Albuquerque; his grandparents, Paul and Rita Benavidez; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. Pallbearers include Andrew Torres, Gabriel Benavidez, James Benavidez, Shane Vaughn, Tony Benavidez, and Michael Palma. Honorary Pallbearers include Matthew and Malachi Benavidez. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 3, 2004 from 12:00 PM - 5:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Sunrise Funeral Options, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. A Rosary will be prayed on Sunday, October 3, 2004, at 6:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Sunrise Funeral Options. Mass will be held Monday, October 4, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming NE, Albuquerque, NM. Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery immediately following the Mass. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the prayers, phone calls, and visits during this difficult time.
