Obituary for GARCIA

Mr. Abelio T. Garcia, 84, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on September 19, 2004. Mr. Garcia is the beloved father to Abelio R. Garcia Jr. and wife, Betty, Pablo R. Garcia and wife, Julile, Jose I. Garcia and wife, Martha, Mary (Angela) Sandoval and husband, Andrew A., Meres Gonzales and husband, Antonio, Yolanda C. Carrillo and husband, Chris, Mary (Nancy) Ortiz and husband, Charlie. Mr. Garcia is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Garcia was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. Mr. Garcia worked with the Albuquerque Dukes Organization for over 30 years, was retired from Sandia Lab and he loved baseball. A visitation for Mr. Garcia will be Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church, 2401 Broadway SE with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 by Father Terry Messer, Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be B.J. Garcia, Pablo Garcia, Jude A. Sandoval, Daniel C. Carrillo, Marino G. Sandoval, and Sys Hansana. Honorary pallbearers will be Eloy Garcia, Arthur Chavez, Maxie Gallegos, Frank Marquez, and Sarah M. Gonzales. Arrangements by: Gabaldon Mortuary 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW 243-7861
