Obituary for SMITH

Frederick W. Smith, 95, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2004. He is survived by his son, James F. Smith and wife, Rebekah of Tijeras, NM; granddaughters, Tracie Pearson and husband, Richard of Tijeras, NM and Kelly Smith of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jacob, and Caleb; brothers, Thomas E. Smith and Paul E. Smith and wife, Devita all of Las Vegas, NM; sisters, Mary E. Albrecht of Portland, OR and Marjorie C. Jordan of San Antonio, TX; and many nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Norma B. Smith in 1990 after 61 years of marriage; brothers, H. K. Smith and Clyde H. Smith; and sister, Janet Wilson. He retired from US West after 42 years of service. Fred enjoyed sharing in the family business, Smith's Ultimate Linings, the companionship of his son, daughter-in-law, granddaughters and great-grandchildren. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed his roses and his yard work. Services will be held Monday, 5:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel with Pastor Tom Salmon officiating. Friends may visit, French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel on Sunday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 8100 Mountain Rd.
