Obituary for ERDMAN

Guilford Mack Erdman, 88, a resident of Albuquerque, born in Shelby County, MO, November 29, 1915, went to be with the Lord on the morning of September 6, 2004. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Virginia; and sister-in-law and husband, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many wonderful neighbors and friends. Guilford was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he loved serving in many capacities. He was a charter member of Chaparral Chapter of FMCA. The Erdmans owned and operated The Little Corral Kindergarten from 1960-1979 and continue to be loved and remembered by their many students. Guilford graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1933. He attended Hemphill Diesel School in Chicago where he graduated with honors. He was a well respected diesel mechanic. After serving his Country in the Navy in World War II, he returned to Shelby County to farm for several years before relocating to New Mexico. During retirement, he spent many enjoyable years researching the Santa Fe Trail and traveling with the Motor Coach Association. The funeral service will be at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3715 Silver SE, Thursday, September 9, 2004 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Tom Beach officiating. Interment will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Tom Baker, Wilson Bryant, John Pederson, Bob Nutting, Ron Nelson, Austin Cervantes, and Jan Weaver. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Schitoskey, Kurt Gerber, Doyne Bartmas, Max Smith, Cordell Puckett, Bob Humble, Orval Buchlieter, Bob Hughes, and Perry Key.
