Obituary for WILSON

Donald "Bruce" Wilson died August 28, 2004. Bruce was born to Bernice Ferguson Wilson and Donald Howard Wilson on November 4, 1933. The family moved to Albuquerque, NM where his father worked as a civil engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers. Bruce attended Albuquerque High School and graduated from Highland High School in 1951. He played basketball for the UNM Lobos, and served as team captain in 1955. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the UNM in 1956. He married Aletta Erwin Thomson on August 31, 1956 in Cranford, NJ. He will be missed as husband, father, grandfather, teacher, mentor, activist, supporter, competitor, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Aletta; and their four children, Linda and Andrew Zimmerman, their children, Ian, Rachel, and Mary; Donald and Lesa Wilson, their daughter, Denali; Kathe and Steve Kanim, their children, Anne and Russell, all of Las Cruces; and Kevin and Tamara Wilson, and son, Austin of Salt Lake City, UT. He is also survived by his sister, Bernice Kuhn of Newark, OH; his uncle, William Ferguson of Apache Junction, AZ; and numerous other relatives.
