Obituary for POTTER

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Monday August 23, 2004

GREGORY JAMES (Also known as Jaiya Jordan John, Ph.D.) November 13, 1968 - August 23, 2004 Greg, your death brought sadness to our lives; yet we know you are now at peace. I shall always remember your wide smile and generous spirit. Most of all I will remember that you won the hearts of a loving family-- James M. and Darlene Potter and their children-- in Los Alamos. You were the second Black adopted son of these caring people, my son John Scott Potter (now known as Jaiya Jordan John) being the first Black baby adopted by a White family in New Mexico. You and Jaiya have shared with your three siblings all the love that a mother and father could give. You brought them happiness, and I am honored to have been a part of your life and a continual part of your family's life as well. May God preserve memories of you in our hearts forever. Lovingly, Reverend Mary E. Woods
