Mr. David M. Leyva Sr., 78, a resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on August 18, 2004. Mr. Leyva is the beloved husband to Mrs. Esperanza ( Kancho ) P. Leyva, married for 57 years. Mr. Leyva is also survived by his loving children, David Leyva Jr., Maria Erlinda ( Dita ) Sandoval, Ismael ( Milo ) P. Leyva, Moses ( Moe ) P. Leyva, Ricardo A. Leyva and Adrian A. Leyva. Mr. Leyva is also survived by one sister, Ursula Fierro of El Paso, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Leyva was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Alicia Ruybal. Mr. Leyva was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving in World War I I. A visitation for Mr. Leyva will be Sunday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Memorial Service to be held at 2:00 p.m. by Chaplain Christine Montano.
