Perfecto Martinez, surrounded by his family, passed away at age 77 after a long illness. He was born on April 26, 1927 in Val Verde, New Mexico to Encarnacion and Pedro Martinez. Mr. Martinez served in the U.S. Military and retired from the U.S. Federal Government after 33. Our Dad was a hard worker and loved his family especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed music and joking. He is preceded is death by his brother, John Martinez; sister, Louisa Montoya; brothers in law Mauricio Montoya and Willie Coca; niece, Virginia Montoya and nephew Richard Martinez. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Isabel Martinez; his daughter, Dolores "Monica" Rincon and husband Don; son, Ralph Martinez and wife Lillian; three grandchildren, Jessica Vaughn and husband Redell, Daniel and wife Paula and Samuel and wife Kelly; six great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Ryan, Joshua, Miranda, Brittany and Danny Jr.; his sister Andrea Coca; his brother Rumaldo Martinez and sister-in-law Rita Martinez. He is also survived by two nephews, Raymond Montoya and wife Diane and John Martinez and niece Sandra Vigil and husband Dominic. He will be so greatly missed. A special thank you to the staff at Manor Care Heights for all their time and great care for our father. A rosary will be recited on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Jessica and Redell Vaughn, Daniel and Paula Aguilar-Martinez and Sam and Kelly Ramirez-Martinez.
