Perfecto Martinez, surrounded by his family, passed away at age 77 after a long illness. He was born on April 26, 1927 in Val Verde, NM to Encarnacion and Pedro Martinez. Mr. Martinez served in the U.S. Military and retired from the U.S. Federal Government after 33. Our Dad was a hard worker and loved his family especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed music and joking. He is preceded is death by his brother, John Martinez; sister, Louisa Montoya; niece, Virginia Montoya; and nephew, Richard Martinez. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Isabel Martinez; his daughter, Dolores "Monica" Rincon and husband, Don; son, Ralph Martinez and wife, Lillian; three grandchildren, Jessica Vaughn and husband, Redell, Daniel and wife, Paula, and Samuel and wife, Kelly; six great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Ryan, Joshua, Miranda, Brittany, and Danny Jr.; his sister, Andrea Coca; his brother, Rumaldo Martinez, and sister-in-law, Rita Martinez. He is also survived by two nephews, Raymond Montoya and wife, Diane, and John Martinez; and niece, Sandra Vigil and husband, Dominic. He will be so greatly missed. A special thank you to the staff at Manor Care Heights for all their time and great care for our father. A rosary will be recited on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning, August 16, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Jessica and Redell Vaughn, Daniel and Paula Aguilar-Martinez, and Sam and Kelly Ramirez-Martinez.
