Obituary for MAREZ

Johnny L. Marez, age 60, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away in an Albuquerque hospital due to complications from an auto accident on Sunday, August 8, 2004. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Johnny was well known throughout the valley as an auto mechanic, retiring from Enchantment Auto Sales because of a disability. He is preceded in death by his parents, Luis and Floripa Marez; one sister, Aurora Dominguez; one brother, Alejandro Marez; and one brother-in-law, Roman Martinez. Johnny is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joyce; his son, Johnnie B. Marez of the family home in Los Lunas; four daughters, Bernadean and her husband, Tom Vogel of Rio Rancho, NM, Dora Ann Espinosa of Los Lunas, Tina Marez and her husband, Lee Chavez of Rio Communities; and Jessica and Mark Bowman of Los Lunas; fifteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; one sister, Julia Martinez of Encino, NM; and his godfather, Roman Paiz. He is also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. With the utmost respect for his wishes, cremation has taken place. All Services will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2004 at Romero Funeral Home Chapel, beginning with a visitation at 6:30 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St. Belen.
