Eleanor Alice Elkin, 79, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1972, and coming to New Mexico from Brooklyn, New York, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2004. Eleanor was born March 22, 1925, the daughter of Jose and Marie Fernandez Quintana in Manhatten, New York. Eleanor was a "Rockette" in the 1940s. After retiring from the entertainment business, she devoted her life to her family as a full time homemaker. Eleanor is survived by her husband, Jack of Rio Rancho; son, Mark Elkin and wife, Kathy of Rio Rancho; daughters, Laura Fuller and husband, Dean of Rio Rancho, and Arlene Colechia and husband, Anthony of Clearwater, FL; seven grandchildren, Eric, Ashley, Faith, Cody, Calvin, Angela, and Alyssa; one great-granddaughter, Savannah. The Service for Eleanor will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho with Pastor Tom Lambelet officiating.
