Obituary for SCHRADER

Russell (Bud) E. Schrader died Monday, July 26, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. after a long illness with Alzheimers. Bud was born on September 1, 1920 in North Liberty, IN to Ernest and Edna McBride Schrader. On April 4, 1942 he married Frances Mary Hall in North Liberty. Survivors in addition to Fran are his daughter, Dawne Parker of Albuquerque; his son, Gregg of West Virginia; two sisters, Jeanette Jackson and Millie Kaser of North Liberty; grandchildren, Misti, Gregg Jr., Keta, and Todd; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Delmore and Gene; and a grandson, Britton. Bud served with the US Army for 20 years, retiring as an officer. He was in the Normandy Invasion of WWII, going in on D Day plus two. He served two tours in Korea. His honors included a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for Valor and for Service. A Funeral Service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on August 7, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at a later date.
