Obituary for LOYA

Rafael "El Viejito" passed away on Sunday morning, July 18, 2004. He was born in Saucillo, Chihuahua, Mexico and resided in New Mexico for over thirty-five years, where he was a resident of Los Lunas for over Twenty years. He and Ruben Melendez, whom he loved like a son, shared a passion for gardening. El Viejito was especially known for his green chili crop. he was a kind and gentle man that refused no one a warm meal and was more than willing to give a helping hand to those in need. His final words were declarations of love to his family and friends. He was by all means a friend to everyone and stranger to no-one. He is preceded in death by his son. Luis Octavio Loya. Survived by his daughters Margarita Deyo, Yvonne Loya, Amie Giron and husband Ramey. Son Julio Loya and wife Jamita. Grandchildren: Amber Loya, Anthony Deyo, Shantal Giron, Dominic Deyo, Raquel Giron, Patrick Loya, Marissa Loya, Steven Deyo and Francis Loya. Companion Consuelo Gomboa. Services will be held at San Jose Catholic Church. The Rosary will be Wednesday July 21, 2004 at 7 PM and the Mass will be on Thursday morning at 10 AM July 22, 2004 with Burial to follow at Mt.
