Max Thurston Fishburn, 88, a resident of Stanley, NM passed away Saturday July 3, 2004. He was born October 30, 1915, in South Bend, IN, to Floyd and Ethel Leone (Russell) Fishburn. Max Married Anna Helene Laycock, November 11, 1944 in Santa Anna, CA. Max was a member of the Masons, and served his country during WWII in the Marine Corp. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Anna Helene Fishburn; two sons, Mike and his wife Wanda Fishburn of Las Cruces, NM, Bill and his wife Pat Fishburn of Moriarty, NM; three daughters Jennifer and her husband Earl Brayman, of Stanley, NM, Jackie and her husband Lewie Wickham of Albuquerque, NM, and Cheryl and her husband Gary Kelton, of Edgewood, NM; one sister Bonnie and her husband Ron Bybee of CA; 14 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Max was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and one granddaughter Lori Kelton. Max will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. Mr. Fishburn will lie in state Tuesday July 6, 2004-8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM for his family and close friends. A funeral service will be held Tuesday July 6, 2004-2:00 PM at the Stanley Union Church in Stanley, NM, with pastor James Thompson officiating. Burial and Military Honors will be held at The Mountain Valley Cemetery on Barton road in Edgewood, NM. Pallbearers will be John Fishburn, Virgil Kelton, Mike Fishburn, Bill Fishburn, Gary Kelton, and Earl Brayman. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Ortiz, Jonathan Thomas, Robert Kelton, Lewis McComb, Sam King, Everett Loyd, and Jim Yeager. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the: Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM 832-6130.
