Lon E. Chambers, a resident of Albuquerque since 1996, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Jennalee Tidwell Chambers of Albuquerque; stepdaughter, Carolyn Saxe of Albuquerque; stepson, John Tidwell of Spring, TX; step-granddaughter, Leigh Tidwell of Spring, TX; step-grandson, Scott Saxe of Albuquerque; and step-great-grandsons, Jacob and Tristan Lopez of Spring, TX. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary. Mr. Chambers was born on December 19, 1919 to L.H. and Lettie Chambers in Marfa, TX. He graduated from Marfa High School and attended Sul Ross University. Mr. Chambers served in the U.S. Army Infantry in the Pacific during WWII. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in El Paso, TX for 31 years. Mr. Chambers was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Albuquerque. Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 6, 2004, 1:00 p.m., at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, TX. French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE 275-3500
