Obituary for VIARRIAL

Gov. Jacob Viarrial, 58, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2004 of natural causes in Juarez, Mexico. He was the Governor of the Pueblo of Pojoaque for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fermin and Feliciana Viarrial; brother, Margarito Viarrial; sisters, Maria Inez and Frances Viarrial. He was loved so very much by his family and friends. He was a very kind and generous man and loved helping people. Gov. Jacob will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He also served in the US Navy for 6 years and received an Honorable Discharge and was a Vietnam Veteran. Gov. Jacob is survived by his sisters, Cordie Gomez, Dora Martinez, Phoebe Petty and Josefina Villarreal; brother, Ben Viarrial and wife Flora, Jim and Ralph Viarrial all from the Pueblo of Pojoaque and many cousins, nieces, great-nieces, great-great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, great-great-nephews all of whom loved him very much and considered him their best friend, favorite uncle and was a father figure to them. Gov. Jacob is also survived by his aunt, Mary Quintana and very many good friends, especially Sen. Nancy Rodriguez of Santa Fe, Melissa Salazar of El Guique, Araceli Maspons from Juarez, Mexico, Frank Demolli from Pojoaque, Joe Trujillo with Sen. Pete Domenici of Albuquerque and many other Honorable figures. A rosary will be recited on Monday, June 28, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at 8:00 a.m. also at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque. Burial to follow at the Pojoaque Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Joe Trujillo, Frank Demolli, Emilio Gonzalez, Phil Viarrial, Robert Gallegos and Samuel Fletcher. Honorary pallbearers named are all other family members and friends. The family of Gov.
