Obituary for YALCH

Jerry R. Yalch, "Mexican Joe", a lifelong resident of El Cerro joined our Lord on Saturday, June 19, 2004. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Peralta. He served in the Army National Guard. Jerry enjoyed truck driving, playing pool and dancing. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by his father, John Yalch; his friends, John Sanchez and Bennie Valenzuela. Mr Yalch is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Marcella Yalch of the family home; six sons, Marty Yalch and Darlene Roybal, Johnny Yalch and Yvonne Trujillo, Raymond Yalch and his wife, Evelyn, David Yalch and Dorothy Yalch, Jose (JM) Yalch and his wife, Barbara all of Los Lunas, Kenneth Yalch and Claire Chavez of Albquerque; two daughters, Joylene Yalch and Ron Zengerly of Belen, Christine and her husband, Alfred Torres of Los Lunas; his mother, Navora Yalch of Los Lunas; one sister, Mary Ann and her husband, Gilbert Baca of Las Vegas, NM; 21 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren' nine step-grandchildren; five step-great -grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. A viewing will be held on Monday, June 21, 2004 at Romero Funeral Home Chapel at 5:30 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church in Valencia with Interment following at Valencia Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his sons Marty, Johnny, Ray, David, JM and Kenneth. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Zengerly and Alfred Torres. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen.
