Obituary for BOBROFF

Mildred "Millie" Crockenberg Bobroff, 93, a 50 year resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, June 14, 2004. She is survived by her son, Jack Bobroff and wife Bettye; grandchildren, Jay and wife, Louise, Dana, Kip and his wife, Michelle, Michael, Kara and her husband, Paul Campbell; great grandchildren, Desiree, Jason, Matthew, Jackie B. and Reed; great-great grandchildren Naomi and Nicole; niece, Joan Crockenberg ; nephews, Dr. Alan Cantwell and Jack Crockenberg. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Henry "Bob" Bobroff and son, Bobby Bobroff. Millie and Bob met at Flower Fifth Avenue Hospital Medical School in New York City where Millie trained as a R.N. and Bob as a medical doctor. Upon completion of their training, Bob joined the Indian Health Service and they moved to the Walter River Indian Reservation in Nevada. Subsequent assignments included Indian Health Service hospitals in South Dakota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Albuquerque Indian Hospital, and the Laguna Acoma clinic. They also had military assignments at Sandia Base Hospital and Walker Reed Hospital as well as serving the coal miners in West Virginia. Millie enjoyed her involvement with the Our Lady of Fatima Parish, where she was a member of the Theresians, volunteering at the County Rehab Center with children, and over the years, her participation in bowling, golf, horseback riding, yoga and square dancing. Among her greatest loves were playing bridge, traveling, shopping, and enjoying her friends and family. She will be greatly missed and always remembered by those whose lives she touched for her love, great interest in others, friendship, class, generosity and courageous spirit. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Millie will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church at Lomas and Morningside, NE on Thursday, June 24, 2004, 3:00 p.m. with Fr. Francis X. Eggert officiating.
