Bernice Celeste Nossoff (nee Guravitz), loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, educator, community activis friend. Born in Buffalo, New York, April 1, 1917; died April 8, 2004 in Mesa, AZ. Bernice taught grade school in Buttonwillow, CA and kindergarten in La Habra and Hacienda Heights, CA. Her experiential teaching methods won her professional recognition and led to her hiring by the University of California, Irvine to educate teachers. Survived and missed by her daughter and son-in-, Nadina Cole and Tom Potter of Scottsdale, AZ; son, Evan Nossoff of Sacramento; son and daughter-in-law, Joel Nossoff and Nancy Rouse-Nossoff of Albuquerque grandson, Joshua Cole and his wife, Karen Campbell Cole; and their children, Benjamin Jacob Cole and Ashlyn Reann Cole of Glen Allen, VA. A Memorial Service will be held August 8, 2004 in Oxnard, CA. Information at 480-946-0107.
