Obituary for CARBAJAL

Andrew Lee Carbajal, age 14, a resident of Belen and Los Chavez, passed away in Mexico, on June 10, 2004. Andy is a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. He belonged to Our Lady of Belen Youth Choir and the Belen Middle School Choir. He was going to enter the 9th grade at Belen High in the fall. Andy belonged to Boy Scout troop #108 and achieved many badges and merits. Andy loved wrestling and playing video games with his Dad and friends. His sister was one of his best friends and they were very close. He was a kind, loving person, very compassionate and caring toward others. He was adventurous, daring and just loved to have fun. Andy was very spiritual for being so young and he truly loved the Lord. Andy is survived by his father, Andrew B. Carbajal; his mother, Donna M. Griego; one sister, age 13, Nichole A. Carbajal; his paternal grandparents, Lydia Carbajal, Ray and Dora Carbajal; his maternal grandparents, Daniel and Ann Purnell; aunts, Debbie Graeber and Davina Purnell; uncles Freddie Carbajal, Ray Carbajal, Pat Graeber, and Duane Purnell; great aunts and uncles, Lois Parro, Mildred Johnson, Maria McGrory, Rose McGrory; Gil Parro, Wilbur Purnell, Daniel McGrory, Lupe and Orlando Bustos, Roy and Carmen Sanchez, Emma and Vince Maez, Willie Nelson, Sacarias Sanchez and his wife JoAnn, Desiderio Sanchez and his wife Joyce, Nelda Cordova Joyce Langhorst, Barney Carbajal and his wife Jan, Dick Carbajal and his wife Lois, Corrine Jaramillo; cousins, Jamie, Jenny, Amanda, Daniel, Matthew, Desirae, Christopher, Michael, Brian, James Patrick and many more cousins and friends. Andy is loved by all. Services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church beginning with a visitation on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at 6:30 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at 8:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 9:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Andrew and Freddie Carbajal, Duane and Daniel Purnell, Desirae Benavidez and Bryan Swarthout. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Ortega and Matthew Whitt.
