Obituary for RHODES

Rex Rhodes, born September 5, 1921, passed away Monday, June 7, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn "Ann" Rhodes; two daughters, Debbie Hellbach and husband, Carl "Bear" Hellbach, Danie Williams and husband, Mike; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Rhodes and wife, Donna; sister, Claudia Shriver; three stepchildren and their spouses, Jody and Don Vandock, Don and Janie States, and Jim and Barbara States; six great step-grandchildren; and 11 step great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfred C. Rhodes and Emma Hoppes Rhodes. Rex was a World War II, Purple Heart Recipient. He was also a lifetime member of the International Lions Club, Past President of the Four Hills Lions Club, Leader Dog representative and a Melvin Jones recipient. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Sunday, June 13, 2004, 2:00 p.m., in the Piru Clubhouse at Four Hills Mobile Home Park. Interment of cremated remains will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date.
