Ignacio A., 77, passed away June 1, 2004. He was a lifelong resident of Corrales, served in the US Navy during WWII where he was among the first U.S. troops to land in Japan after the atomic bomb was dropped. He retired after 30 years service at Sandia Base and was the owner and manager of Corrales rentals and Corrales apartments. Ignacio was active in the Corrales Fire Department and was a member of San Ysidro Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus. Ignacio is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pauline (Harrison) Perea; sons, Rudy and Paul Perea; grandchildren, Rudy Jr., Raphel, and Nicholas; siblings, Filomena Cordova, Mary Chavez, Margaret Cline, T.C. Perea, Vicky Werner, Richard Perea, Robert Perea, and Thomas Perea; other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Memorial Services will be held at San Ysidro Catholic Church in Corrales. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, June 3, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. A Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 4, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. with burial following at San Ysidro Cemetery in Corrales.
