Obituary for SCHWEND

Francis "Dick" Schwend, 83, a resident of Albuquerque for 9 months, a former resident Orange County since 1972, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004. He is survived by his children, Virginia Chulkovs and husband, Michael of New Milford, CT, Dr. Richard Schwend and wife, Colleen of Albuquerque, Denise Abbott and husband, Steven of Eugene, OR, Susan Broome and husband, Dale of Redlands, CA, and step-son, Kirk Fleming of Santa Clarita, CA; seven grandchildren; and brothers, Fred N. Schwend of Redlands, CA and Robert L. Schwend and wife, Melba of Winston-Salem, NC. Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene F. Schwend. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was active in the 55th Weather Recon Squadron. Dick co-founded and worked at Omohundro Company in Tustin, CA. He recently became active in the Newman Center in Albuquerque. Cremation has taken place and interment of cremains will be at Riverside National Cemetery.
