Cajetan "Cajey" Romero, 50, a resident of Albuquerque since 1963, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 18, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Benerita "Bennie" Romero; sons, Cajey Romero, Jr., Joaquin Romero, Manuel Romero and Jason Rodarte; daughter, Dalena Romero-Chavez and husband, Leo; mother, Elvera "Vera" Romero; brothers Ed Romero and wife, Liz, Joe Romero and wife, Emma and Manuel Romero and wife, Benita, all of Albuquerque; sisters Barbara Abeyta and husband, Richard, of St. Louis, MO and Loretta Romero-Vigil and husband, Rudy, of Albuquerque and three grandchildren, Angelo, Raissa and Ariana. Cajey grew up on a cattle ranch in Colorado, working all the details of the ranch. He had owned and operated Romero Automotive. Cajey later became Maintenance Director for Gardunos of Mexico. He was a Christian man who attended Calvary Chapel for the past eight years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and Harley rider. Cajey was a caring, kindhearted man who devoted himself to the family he loved. Services will be held Friday, May 21, 2004, 10:00 a.m., at Calvary Chapel with Pastor Bob Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens.
