Obituary for STOREY

Roy A. Storey, age 47, a resident of Albuquerque, NM joined our Lord and Savior on May 14, 2004. Roy liked to fish, read, and listen to music. Roy worked hard to take care of his wife and kids, whom he loved very much. He owned and managed a nuclear pharmacy in Chicago for many years before moving back home and running a mail order pharmacy in Albuquerque, NM. He was recently working for a home healthcare pharmacy and was very dedicated to his patients and co-workers. Roy graduated from Belen High School in 1974. He was a star athlete for Belen High School lettering in football, basketball, and baseball. He was invited to try out for the Cincinnati Reds. Roy went on to the UNM School of Pharmacy and graduated from there in 1979. Roy was a big baseball fan and liked to go to spring training with his family. His favorite pro teams were all out of Chicago. The Lady Lobo Basketball games were also a favorite of his. Roy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Roy is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Manuel and Maria Perea; paternal grandparents, Jesus and Toribia Storey; Grandma Petrolina Griego. He is survived by his loving wife, Tina of 23 years; three children, Sean, Leanne, and Nancy all of Albuquerque; his parents, Eli and Mable Storey of Veguita; in-laws, Edwin and Regina Griego of Belen; four brothers, Ron and his wife, Lisa of Ruidoso, Woody and his wife, Pam of Albuquerque, John and his wife, Sonya of Indianapolis, IN, and Dino and his wife, Theresa of Albuquerque; brothers-in-law, Bruce Griego and his wife, Kathy of Huntsville, TX, Tinker Griego of Espanola, Geoffrey Griego and his wife, Cora of El Rito; sisters-in-law, Rhoanna Austin and her husband, Joe of Seattle, WA, Cathy Guzman of Albuquerque, Cris and her husband, Matthew Ryan of Dallas, TX, and Rebecca Griego of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Roy very much, Kyle, Dana, Denille, Lenell, Luisa, Patia, Stephanie, Erin, Cheryl, Azelea, Abrianna, Danielle, Jared, Mathew, Brett, Samuel, Jacob, Alejandro, Christian, Josh, Jacob, Jeremiah, Andrew, and Nolan; one great nephew and two great nieces. The family would like to thank everyone who brought food, flowers, and sent their condolences in our time of sorrow. Your love and support means a great deal to us. Roy, you brought love, laughter, friendship, companionship, heartache and tears to our lives, we will always remember you and love you. May you rest in peace. All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. A viewing will he held on Sunday, May 16, 2004 at 5:30 p.m. followed by a rosary at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 17, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Dino Storey, John Storey, Tinker Griego, Woody Storey, Geoffrey Griego, and Ron Storey.
