Edna K. Cohn, 82, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 18 years, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2004. She came to New Mexico from Levittown, Long Island, NY in 1986. Edna was born March 27, 1922 the daughter of Harry and Ida Zwerling Korman in New York City, NY. She was a lifetime member of Sperry Rand (UNISYS) Stamp and Coin Club; Nassau County, NY Women's Police Auxiliary; was involved in both Boy and Girl Scouting in a leadership role for her children; member of the Jewish Women's War Veterans Auxiliary; Jewish Community Friendship Club; and the Meadowlark Senior Center. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sadie; and brothers, Abraham and Nathan. She is survived by her husband, Irving I. Cohn; two children, Eileen Cohn and Joel Cohn; brother, Milton Korman; grandchildren, Aaron and Sara, Debbie and Eddie; great-grandchildren, ThresaDaniella, Justin, and Dylan; and many nieces and nephews. The Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Jewish War Veterans section in Vista Verde Memorial Park, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. It has been suggested that memorial contributions be made in Edna's name to the NM Alzheimers Association, 8100 Mountain Rd. NE, Suite 102, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
