James "Bubs" David Gallegos, 20, a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away Thursday May 6, 2004 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born May 8, 1983 in Albuquerque, NM, to Arnold Gallegos, and Lori L. Ward. James graduated from Moriarty High School 2001, in high school he was very active in wrestling, and football. He was also the youngest little league baseball umpire. James was a Sales representative for Coca Cola, a Senior Airman with the Air National Guard, and loved to ride his motorcycle. He is survived by his father and step mother Arnold and Belinda B. Gallegos; mother and step father Lori L. and James M. Lee; two brothers Justin A. Smith, and Benjamin A. Gallegos; Grandparents Laudente Sr. & Gloria Gallegos, James R. & Shirley J. Ward, and Linda S. Freeman; God parents Don & Judy Anderson. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends. James "Bubs" David Gallegos will be remembered as a young man who lived life on his terms, that knew what he wanted, worked hard to get it, and had no regrets. He will be greatly Missed by all that knew and loved him. James will lie in state Monday May 10, 2003-4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM. A funeral service will be held Tuesday May 11, 2004-1:00 PM at Berean Baptist Church, (3800 Eubank Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM), with Rev. Charles Yates Officiating. Burial and Military Honors will follow at Sun Set Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Justin A. Smith, Benjamin A. Gallegos, Ron Gallegos, Sean Baros, Chris Gornally, Michael Osborn, John McCaully, and Robert Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be James Aragon, Robby Ward, Gary Ward, Jason York, Mike Grose, Laudente Gallegos, David Gallegos, Billy Bird, Tony Maes, Robert Rosania, and J.D. Johnson. A memorial fund has been setup at the Sandia Labs Federal Credit Union, the account will be "In Memory of James Gallegos". Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM, 832-6130.
