Barbara Ann LaCourse,60, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend departed this life April 30th, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. Her strength and determination will forever be an inspiration to us all. Her love and compassion will never be forgotten. Barbara was born in Clinton, Iowa, in 1943 to John "Jack" and Doris Horst, and has been a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, since 1991. She is survived by Gary, her husband of 41 years, her daughters Sheri and husband, Frank Johnson of Aurora, IL, Donna and husband, Damian Rowland and Renee and husband, Mark Cossman both of DePere WI; her son Michael and wife, Christianna LaCourse of Minneapolis, MN; her sisters Mary and husband, Rich Jaeger, Lynne and husband, Ken Determan, Joanne and husband, Bob Mulholland, and her brother Jim and wife, Amy Horst, all of Clinton Iowa; eight grandchildren, Alexandria and Adam Johnson, Michaela Rowland, Audrey and Jack Cossman, and Annalise, Lauren, and Johnny LaCourse; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and a nephew. Barbara was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., with Deacon Bob Lewis, reciting, Monday, May 3, 2004, at French Mortuary-Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW, where the visitation will take place from 6:00 - 9: 00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 4, 2004, 9:00 a.m., at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW, with Father John Conway, Celebrant. Arrangements for burial and a gathering of friends and family in Clinton, Iowa, are pending. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Felix Food Pantry, 4020 Barbara Loop SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124, where Barbara was an active volunteer.
