Robert Bruce Gardner, 86, passed away April 30th, 2004, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born in Applegate, Michigan, January 19th, 1918, one of 8 children, he is the son of Andrew Steven Gardner and Annie R. Seaton Gardner. Bob married Vivian Lucille Markley on May 5th, 1944 in Roswell, New Mexico, and spent many years in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. They moved to Mount Dora, Florida about 35 years ago, where he and Vivian owned and operated the Silver Oyster Gift Shop. In January, 2003, they relocated to Albuquerque to be closer to family. Bob is survived by his wife of 59 years, Vivian, and their five children; Rebecca Wild Olson and her husband Donald Edward Olson, Susan Lorraine Wild; Kathleen Elizabeth Wild (Detong ChoYin); Robert Gardner Wild, Jr.; and Heather Wild Allen and her husband Steven Earle Allen. Grandchildren include Christine Olson Vassallo (and her husband Kevin Vassallo), Edward Andrew Allen, Joseph Fay Allen, and Emily Rebecca Allen. A great grandson, Joseph Walter Vassallo, recently joined the family. Bob is also survived by his sister Thelma Gardner Poppell. A family memorial service will be held in Branch County, Michigan.
