Merrill Oscar Murphy, born August 16, 1921 in Rifle, Co. was called home April 29, 2004, Albuquerque, NM. He was 82 years of age. He was united in marriage October 31, 1940 to Geraldine McKee in Glenwood Springs, Co. Survivors include his loving wife Geraldine and sons Lowell and Raymond, both of Albuquerque and daughter Bonnie, also of Albuquerque, 3 brothers and their wives in Co., 4 grandchildren and 3 great-granddaughters. Merrill was a long time member of the New Mexico Facetors' Guild and also coeditor of their bulletin. He was a veteran of the US Navy whose hobbies include; gem cutting, golf and fishing. Merrill retired from Western Electric and Sandia Corporation in 1981. He was a member of Shepherd Lutheran Church for the last 23 years. A funeral service is to be held on Tuesday, May 4, at 10:30 AM at Shepherd Lutheran Church at 3900 Wyoming Blvd., Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, the family request that anyone wishing to give a memorial could do so to the Shepherd Lutheran Church.
