Obituary for RATCLIFF

Jerry R. Ratcliff, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, died Friday, April 23, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn E. Ratcliff; daughter, Peggy R. Serns and husband, Charles, of Longmont, CO; son, Thomas B. Ratcliff and wife, Susan of Albuquerque; grandson, Charles "Chip" Serns III and wife, Gina Wilson Ramirez MD, of Albuquerque; and granddaughter, Katie Serns, of Denver. Jerry was born in Amarillo, TX and married Evelyn E. Bailey on August 4, 1944 in Amarillo. He was a former student of Texas A&M, Class of 1944 and a member of Ross Volunteers. Jerry received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering. He was an Eagle Scout and served in the U.S. Army, with the rank of Captain. Jerry worked for the New Mexico Company in Albuquerque and as a manufacturers representative. He owned Thomas Hardware in Corrales. Jerry was a member of the Rotary Club in Rio Rancho and St. John's United Methodist Church. He was a beloved husband, dedicated father and loving grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Thursday, April 29, 2004, 1:00 pm, at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE with Dr. Chuck Maynard officiating.
