John James Callaghan, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2004. John was born on February 2, 1929 in New York to Francis and Frances Litt Callaghan. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and the Meadowlark Senior Center in Rio Rancho. Prior to retirement, John spent over 25 years as a Catering Manager with KLM Airlines. He was extremely passionate about airplanes, loved old music, and was an avid reader. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather and will be deeply missed. John was preceded in death by his first wife Virginia in 1976. He is survived by his loving and caring companion Victoria of 27 years; his children Patty, Maureen, Kathy, John, James and Jerry; his brother Fred Lagemann; cousin Madeline McGee; grandchildren Kevin, Allison, Heather, Patrick, Erin, Dan, Katie, Julia, Brian, Megan, Jason, Ryann; and a host of loving friends. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Rio Rancho. A memorial service will also be held on Friday, April 16, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Rio Rancho Calvary Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice.
